I’m going home, that’s it, that’s the blog.
Okay, so..I’m sitting in lab writing this blog because today I just don’t feel like doing any more lab work. There’s an experiment that isn’t working because our equipment doesn’t have the capacity to resolve the data, so I could like…try to troubleshoot it but it’s likely a software issue. That’s beside the point.
This short and brief post is about listening to your gut and intuition. Sometimes your energy tells you what’s up… it’s like … “go home sis.” There’s always work to be done, science to do, and if you’re not in the mood, the right space, you won’t be as productive as you would be if you’re in the zone.
My mind is like… “girl, do it, try, stay, you should be in lab.” And I’m just REALLY, not in the mood. I’m in a good mood, things are great, I’m just not in THE mood to keep working so I’m leaving.
And that’s all I have to say. I want to be an example of a healthy work-life balance/integration whatever the fancy word is
Some days you work late, some days you leave early, some days you leave on time, some days you sell your first born, some days you say f— it and get some bubble tea and enjoy a sunny Friday afternoon.
Okay…never sell your first born. Just be balanced and heed your spirit when it speaks.
