Hey! Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by.
My name is Chiamaka and I’m on two research fellowships – through the Fulbright Program and the Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F) – in Brussels, Belgium. I’m a student researcher at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) completing a certificate in medical research. It’s officially been 3 weeks and 1 day since I’ve moved to Brussels. I just got internet in my apartment today after TWO WEEKS of no internet nor TV (THANK GOD) #firstworldproblems.
I’ve had this site ready for over a month, trying to make it look perfect, beautiful, amazing, etc. I just haven’t had the time to invest in the design #storyofmylife.
Maybe I should be more patient, but there are many things that I want to share NOW, so I’m posting today!
First thing’s first – I’m OK! I’ve overcome several challenges already and I’m transitioning to my new lab with a kick a** project. Second thing’s second – I’ve been keeping a vlog on my YouTube channel about my journey to and in Brussels. I’ll figure out how to link that to my blog.
Moving to a new country has been an unsettling experience in good and challenging ways. I believe it’s something that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. For whatever reason, these kinds of experiences are transformative and induce personal growth. I’m hoping that by the time I return to the U.S., I can articulate exactly how I’ve grown from this journey abroad.
More to come!
P.S. The waffles are magical.
With Love,
Chi-Chi
Will following. Follow my blog back!
